Digital Raster Graphic
Albers - NAD83 - Collars Removed
You are about to enter an FTP site. The folders are organized by size of USGS quad sheet (100K, 24K, & 250K) and the files are
identified by DEP quad numbers.
New File Format! These files have been compressed for your convenience. The .TIF and .TFW files
are included in the .EXE file.

About the Data
A digital raster graphic (DRG) is a scanned image of a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) topographic map.
The collars (the white area around the map) have been removed using the
DOQQ & DRG Utilities.

When were these maps created?
Florida DRGs were made between 1951 and 1993. For an exact year, consult the USGS DRG Survey Map Index.
Quads are listed by quad name. Look in the column labeled "Date"
for the year the map was made.
NOTE: This PDF was created by USGS, not LABINS. To our knowledge, this information is not available in database format.

Determining the File Name
Use the Quad Name Locator to find the
DEP quad number.
The file names begin with "MRG", "K", or "C" and are followed by the DEP quad number.
Downloading Instructions
Due to the large file size, FTP
is recommended for downloads.
These images are available on CD for $25 each. (A CD holds
about half of a 250K sheet.)
Special Software Needed
The DRGs have been compressed and the resulting .EXE file contains
both the .TIF and .TFW world file. Use standard decompression software to
extract the original files.
GIS software is recommended for georeferencing files.
Standard TIFF viewer (such as PhotoShop) on computer with sufficient memory can be used to print or edit files. Note that this software
will not georeference the files.
